Special Feature: Ungroup Taskbar Buttons
I got a new computer for Christmas. I would like to know if it is possible to get each window I have open to appear separately on the taskbar. For example, I usually have several Internet Explorer windows open when I am on the Internet. Instead of seeing a button for each window on the task bar, like I saw on my old computer, there is one Internet Explorer button. I have to click on it, and then I see a vertical list of each window I have open. This happens with Microsoft Word, too, if I have more than one document open.
Answer: This setting is used to save space on your taskbar. You can change it if you prefer to have a separate button for each open window. Here are the steps to change it:
Right click on a blank spot on your taskbar. From the resulting menu, left click on Properties.
This will open the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window. Click the Taskbar tab at the top.
Click the checkbox to remove the check mark from Group similar taskbar buttons. Click the OK button.
Now, every window that you have open will have its own button on the taskbar.

Tips & Tricks: Open Internet Explorer Link in New Window
When I browse on the Internet and click links, the new page replaces what I have in the current window. To get back to it, I have to click the Back button. Occasionally, I would like the link to open the page in a new window, so I can quickly go back and forth between the two windows. Can this be done?
Answer: Yes, it can. When you want to open a link in a new window, point to the link and press the right mouse button. A menu will open; left click on Open in New Window.
The webpage will appear in the new window. To return to the previous webpage, click its button on the taskbar.

Today's Topic: Website Icons
Question: Can I make a shortcut icon on the desktop for a web page that I frequently visit on the internet?
Answer: Yes, you can. Here are the steps:
Open Internet Explorer and go to the website you want the icon for.
Click on File on the menu.
Point to Send.
Click on Shortcut to Desktop.
You will now have an icon on your desktop for that website. To use it, double click on it. This will open up Internet Explorer at the website you want.

Question: Email on Two Computers
My husband and I each have a computer but we share an email address. We both use Outlook Express. When we get email from our children and grandchildren, we both would like to read the email. But when one of us reads an email, it does not appear on the others computer. Can we change a setting so that both of us will be able to read emails?
Answer: Yes, you can. Here are the steps:
Open Outlook Express. Click Tools on the menu bar and then click Accounts.
In the account window, click the Mail tab at the top. Click your account and then click the Properties button.
In the Properties window, click the Advanced tab at the top.
You will now see the advanced page. In the Delivery area at the bottom, click to put a check mark next to Leave a copy of messages on Server.
Click to put a check mark next to Remove from server when deleted from deleted items.
Click the OK button and close the Accounts window.
Repeat these steps on the other computer.
