Software is a computer program. Loosely defined, it's made up of a set of instructions also called "computer code," to be used on your hardware. There is "system software" that operates the machine itself (such as the Windows operating systems), and there is "application software" for specific uses, or applications, such as word processing, playing games, or managing your money.

Today's Topic: Give Your Taskbar Twice as Much Room
When you have several programs open, the taskbar buttons can get so small that you may have trouble identifying them. Here's a great solution: increase the height of the taskbar to two lines or even three, so you can see more buttons. Aim the mouse pointer at the top edge of the taskbar until it turns to a two-headed arrow, then drag up to create an extra row. If you make it too big, just follow the above steps and drag it back down. |
