Tips & Tricks: Microsoft Word: Quick Thesaurus
In Word, point to the word you would like a replacement for and right click. In the resulting menu, point to Synonyms, and, if there are suggestions for your word, you will see them listed there. Left click on the one you want, and your word will be replaced with the new one.
If you do not find a word you like, left click on Thesaurus at the bottom of the list. That will open up the Microsoft Word Thesaurus; giving you access to more words and features.

Today's Topic: Change Desktop Background Color
Question: Please tell me how to change the color on my computer desktop. My color is too bright and distracting. I have seen other computers with different colors so I assume it can be done.
Answer: Yes, it can be. Here are the steps:
Right click on a blank spot on the desktop and then left click on Properties from the resulting menu.
The Display properties dialogue box will appear on your screen. Click on the Desktop tab at the top.
On the right, towards the bottom of the window, you will see the word Color. Right below that you will see a box that is the same color as your desktop. Click the small down arrow to the right of the color.
A box will open displaying about 20 different colors. Click on the one you would like to use for your desktop background.
Click the OK button and your desktop background will change to the new color.
Important: the background color will not change if you have a picture as your desktop background.

Question: Adjusting the Computer Clock
The clock on my computer is wrong. How can it be fixed?
Answer: Double click the clock in your system tray; bottom right on the computer screen. That will open the Date and Time Properties window.
You will see an analog clock. Right below that is the time in numbers. Since you want to adjust the minutes, click on the number representing the minutes. There is a small up and down arrow on the right, click the up arrow to set the time ahead, or the down arrow to set it back.
If you need to adjust the hours, or the date, you can do that here, also.
Click the OK button when you are done and the clock will change.
