Today's Featured Website:     phonetic.com

If you would rather associate words or catch-phrases with your phone numbers instead of digits, you might try PhoNETic at phonetic.com.

PhoNETic finds words within telephone numbers and also converts words into numbers. All words found within the given telephone number will be listed.

Important: Click on Frames Off at the top before you put in your phone number.

Today's Featured Computer Term:    Flame

A flame is an email message intended to insult and provoke. It is a searing e-mail or newsgroup message in which the writer attacks another participant in overly harsh, and often personal, terms. Flames are an unfortunate, but inevitable, element of unmoderated newsgroups or chat rooms.

Today's Topic:   Stop Internet Explorer from Clicking Out Loud

Every time you click on a hyperlink in Internet Explorer, it responds with a click sound. If the clicking annoys you, silence it once and for all.

From Windows, open Control Panel (Start, Settings) and choose the Sounds option (in Windows Me and Windows 2000, this option is called Sounds and Multimedia). Scroll down through the Events list and select Start Navigation in the Windows Explorer group. In the Sound box, click the arrow at the right of the Name box; scroll to the top of the list and select (None).

To restore the default sound, repeat this process, choosing Start.wav as the sound for the Start Navigation event.
