Special Feature: Printer Cleaning
Question: When I print something, it comes out with black streaks across the words. Why is this happening?
Answer: The ink cartridge or jet heads probably need cleaning. Remove the cartridges and wipe the contacts with a soft, lint-free cloth.
The procedure for cleaning the ink jet heads varies from printer to printer. Check the printer manual or help file for instructions on cleaning your printer.
If you cannot remove the ink jet nozzles, try to wipe them off with a lint free cloth. If they are unreachable, you may want to take it in to a repair shop for cleaning.
Also check with the printer manufacturer; some will have a printer cleaning kit.

Tips & Tricks: Organize Outlook Email
In Outlook and Outlook Express, you can organize the emails in your inbox. Sort by sender, by subject line, or by date received.
To do so, click on the From, Subject, or Received column headings above the list of emails. You will sort by that column. Click again to reverse the order; for example, click Received again to see oldest to newest.

Today's Topic: Blocked Email Attachments
Question: I just switched to optimum online and now use Outlook Express for my emails. When I receive emails with pictures attached, all I see is a big red X. What is causing this?
Answer: Outlook Express offers a security feature that blocks email attachments. It is designed to protect your computer from viruses and worms. Unfortunately, it also blocks things you want to see, like the pictures your friends and family sent you.
You can turn off the security feature. Follow these steps to do so:
Click Tools on the menu and then Options. In the Options window that you now see, click the Security tab at the top.
In the Download Images area, click to remove the checkmark from the box next to Block images and other external content in the HTML e-mail. Click the OK button.
Now you should be able to see the attachments that people send you.
Important Reminder: never open email or download files from someone you do not know.

Question: Full Screen Windows
When I open internet explorer, it only fills up about 35 percent of my screen. I can maximize it, but the next time I open it, it is back to the 35 percent. Can I set this to maximize every time I open the program?
Answer: Yes, you can. Here is how:
Point the mouse over at the edge of the window. When it turns into a double headed arrow, hold down the left mouse button and drag the edge of the window outward to the edge of the screen. When it reaches the edge of the screen, release the mouse button. Do this with all four sides.
When the window is the size you want, click File on the menu and then Exit or Close.
When you open the window next time, it will be full size.
