Today's Featured Computer Term:    URL

Short for Uniform Resource Locator, a URL is the address of the files or resources, more commonly known as a website, on the World Wide Web that you wish to locate.

An example of a URL is http://www.sharpertrainingsolutions.com

Today's Topic:   Recover Files From The Recycle Bin

When you move a file to the recycle bin, the file is not deleted from your system until you issue the command to Empty The Recycle Bin. As long as a file is still in the bin, it can be recovered.

Here's how:

1 - Double click the Recycle Bin icon
2 - Find the file you wish to recover and drag it to the desktop
3 - To return the file to its original location, right click on the file and select Restore.

Progressive Learning Series: Prevent Printer Misfeeds

Printer jams and misfeeds, while generally harmless to the printer, can cause a tremendous amount of aggravation for the user. There are ways to cut down and even prevent misfeeds.

Before loading paper into the printer, fan the paper by holding the stack firmly at one end and allowing it to flip one page at a time between your thumb and forefinger. This will help keep the paper from feeding multiple pages in at once and obstructing the print job.

Store your paper flat whenever possible. This will help prevent the paper from curling and causing misfeeds.

Use paper specifically designed for the printer. This is important in the case of inkjet printers: some require special inkjet paper.

Use good paper. If the paper is wrinkled or torn, there's a greater probability of it jamming.

Cover the printer when not in use. Dust can cause havoc with computer equipment.
