Special Feature: Stop Email Filtering
Question: Last week your newsletter stopped showing up in my Inbox. What happened?
Answer: This problem is occurring more and more often with all email services. As the email filtering frenzy continues, email hosts end up blocking legitimate email (like this newsletter) while the spammers manage to sneak their junk into your inbox.
Some Internet Service Providers decide that an email is spam if it is sent to more than one recipient. Since our newsletter goes out to thousands of recipients, it may get routed to your bulk mail or spam folder.
There is a very simple resolution for that. Put our email address into your address book. Most email services will allow email to go thru to your mailbox, if the senders address is in your address book.
To add an address to your address book, follow these steps.
American Online
Open an email. Click the Add Address button on the right side of the email window. The New Contact window will open. Type in any information you want; click the Save button.
Outlook Express
Open an email. Click Tools on the menu. Point to Add to Address Book and click Sender. Click the OK button.
Yahoo Mail
Open an email. To the right of the email address, click Add to Address Book. The Address Book window will open; add any identifying information. Click the Add to Address Book button.

Tips & Tricks: Quick File Count
How many files are in a folder? If you are using Windows XP, right click the folder and left click Properties from the resulting menu.
In the Folder Properties window that you now see, look down to where it says Contains to see the number of files and folders in that folder.

Today's Topic: Secure Servers
Question: What is a secure server and how do they work? When I give my information, is it really safe?
Answer: There are two things that indicate a secure web page:
First, the address changes from http:// to https://. Second, a small, closed padlock appears in the status bar at the bottom of the browser window.
When you go to a website that uses a secure server, the server communicates with your browser. During this communication, it sends your browser encryption information that only it and your browser can read.
Once this encryption is set, it acts like a normal web page, except that all info coming or going is encrypted. All this extra protection is why secure servers may seem to run slower than their non-secure counterparts. This encryption makes it extremely difficult, even impossible, for any third party who would intercept the transaction to decipher it.
Never input personal information on a website that does not use a secure server.
Note: The 2005 Identity Fraud Survey Report, released by the Better Business Bureau and Javelin Strategy & Research found that identity theft is more prevalent offline with paper than online. You can read this report at the BBB website: http://www.bbb.org/alerts/article.asp?ID=565

Question: Email Drafts
Can I hold an unfinished email to send later? I use Outlook Express.
Answer: Yes, you can. In the composing email window, click File on the menu and then Save. A window will appear telling you that the message has been saved in the Drafts folder.
To resume working on the message, click the Drafts folder in the left pane. Double click the message in the list to open it.
America Online
In AOL, you can hold an unfinished email to send later. To do so, create the email and click the Send Later button on the right. You will see a message window telling you that the email has been placed in the Mail Waiting to be Sent folder in your Personal Filing Cabinet.
To open the email again when you want to continue working on it, click the Read button on the toolbar. Click Mail Waiting to be Sent. Double click on your email. After completing the email, send as usual.

Question: Spyware Removal
I ran a spyware removal program and now one of my programs doesn't work.
Answer: Some programs, especially free downloads, can contain components that may be considered spyware or adware. By removing that component you make the program inoperable.
