Special Feature: Slow Downloads
Question: I use Optimum Online to get on the Internet. Usually my downloads go very fast, but every now and then they take a very long time. Why is this?
Answer: When you download, you are copying a file from a computer somewhere out on the internet and saving it on your computer. That remote computer is called a server. It is very possible that the server you are downloading from is slow or has a slow connection.
When a download seems to be taking a very long time, you can cancel it and try again. If it goes faster, you know you had a slow connection the first time. If it is still slow, then the server is slow and there is nothing you can do about it but be patient and wait for the download to finish.

Tips & Tricks: Save a Picture from a Web Page
Question: Sometimes I see pictures on websites that I would like to keep. Can I save these somehow?
Answer: Yes, you can. Right click on the picture. The context menu will open; left click on Save Image as (or, Save Picture as, depending on your browser and version). The Save window will open. Maneuver to the folder you want to save the picture in, note the filename and click Save.
The picture is now saved on your computer.

Today's Topic: Changing the Screen Resolution
Higher screen resolutions create smaller, clearer images. An example of a higher resolution would be 1280 x 1024. Lower screen resolutions, for example, 800 x 600, produce larger, but somewhat blurry, images.
Both high and low resolutions have advantages and disadvantages. With a higher resolution, more fits on your screen. However, everything is smaller and the words and graphics may be hard to see. With the lower resolution, everything is larger, but the images may seem somewhat jagged or blurry.
To change the screen resolution, right click on a blank spot on the desktop. A menu will display; left click on Properties.
This will open the Display Properties dialog box. Click the Settings tab at the top.
In the Screen Resolution area, drag the slider to the left or right to change to a higher or lower resolution.
Click the OK button. A small window will open telling you that your desktop configuration has been changed; click Yes to accept the change.
If you do not like the new screen resolution, follow the above steps to change back to the old resolution.
