Class Descriptions and Explanations of Class Abbreviations CK Computer Kindergarten for Grownups - This is a slow-paced, user-friendly workshop for first-time computer users. Using Windows computers, this unique class covers the basics in a way that even the most inexperienced user will understand. We will cover turning the computer on, the Windows desktop, using the mouse, opening program s, understanding windows elements, inputting text and saving a file, and turning the computer off. All versions of Windows will be addressed.
1G Computer 1st Grade for Grownups - In this workshop you will learn how to work with text including inputting, inserting, moving, and erasing, learn basic word processing skills, and understand commands and dialog boxes.
2G Computer 2nd Grade for Grownups - In this workshop you will learn how to work with numbers including inputting, inserting, moving, and erasing and get an introduction to spreadsheets including an understanding of basic techniques, creating a workbook, inputting data, editing data, formulas and functions, working with columns and rows, formatting and spreadsheet design.
3G Computer 3rd Grade for Grownups - This hands-on workshop covers multitasking, working with graphics and using Windows drawing and painting tools, and using copy and paste and cut and paste within a document, to another document within the same application, and to another application. Copying both text and graphics will be addressed.
4G Computer 4th Grade for Grownups - Understanding the Windows file management structure using the Windows Explorer program to find and view drives, folders and files, create folders, copy and move files, and delete folders and files.
5G Computer 5th Grade for Grownups - This workshop covers using the Windows Desktop to enhance the user’s work environment. Included are saving files to the desktop, moving to and from My Documents and the Recycle Bin, creating folders on the desktop and display properties.
6G Computer 6th Grade for Grownups - Covered will be setting up and installing new program s, uninstalling existing program s, using Windows Help, Search and Documents, using Control Panel.
(WORD) Microsoft Word - Using Microsoft Word, this workshop covers word processing techniques from the basics of creating, editing and saving a file to more advanced functions such as formatting, fonts, envelopes and more.
(Intermediate Word) Intermediate Word - A follow up to Microsoft Word. This workshop covers intermediate topics in word processing and Microsoft Word.
(Advanced Word) Advanced Word - Using Microsoft Word, the world’s most popular word processing program , learn advanced word processing features including Mail Merge, Autotext, AutoCorrect and more.
(DTP) Desktop Publishing - In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to use your word processing program , Microsoft Word, to create greeting cards, letterhead paper, transfer designs, newsletters, notepaper and much more. Some of the many topics covered are creating, inserting and working with graphics, textboxes and frames, WordArt, auto shapes, margins, alignments, paper size and fonts.
(EXCEL) Microsoft Excel - Using Microsoft Excel , this workshop covers spreadsheet techniques from the basics of creating, editing and saving a spreadsheet to more advanced functions such as working with columns and rows, and formulas and functions.

Microsoft PowerPoint - This workshop provides an introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint, a presentation program which can be used as an aid in giving speeches and talks, or to create overhead transparencies and slides. Topics include creating slides, working with graphics and sound files, animation effects and formatting.
All About Email - Learn how to create an e-mail using some of the more popular e-mail providers, including several free Internet e-mail applications such as Yahoo, Hotmail, Lycos and more. In this hands-on, lecture and demo class you will learn how to get an email address, send, receive, forward and reply to e-mail. After you have mastered the basics, you will learn how to attach files, photos and images to the e-mail you send and download attachments sent to you.
